Guest Speaker - Randy Czarlinsky AJC Houston Region Director

Friday, January 15, 2021 2 Shevat 5781

7:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Randy Czarlinsky, AJC Houston Region Director will be our guest speaker during the January 15, Shabbat service.

Randy will be speaking on Houston's diversity.  Houston is promoted as the most diverse city in America.  Ft. Bend is home to the most diverse county in America. Comprised of Latinos, Asians, Blacks, and Anglos the diversity is visibly evident.  At the same time, the City is segregated economically and educationally.

While representing only a very small percentage of the population, the impact on the Jewish community is real.  Many faith and ethnic communities look to and reach out to the Jewish community for engagement.

Randy has spent over three decades in the Jewish public affairs arena.  He arrived in Houston in 1991, after serving in Jewish communities in the Northwest, Central, and Northeast parts of America.  He returned to Houston in 2006 after serving for four years as the executive director of the Jewish Federation of Greater Charlotte.  Since running the American Jewish Committee’s regional office, he has continued to build relationships with the faith and ethnic communities as well as elected officials and members of the diplomatic corps.
