BEFTY(Beth-El Federation of Temple Youth)

BEFTY is the Beth El Youth Group for students in grades 8th-12th.   This dynamic group of teenagers is led by its own Board, which plans incredibly fun, enjoyable and meaningful programs.  These include: social, community service projects, and activities with Jewish themes.  Examples of social programs include: Renaissance Festival, paintball, bowling, Dave and Busters. Community Service / Social Action programs include: food drive for Ft. Bend Human Needs Ministries, Relay for Life for American Cancer Society, and Camp Impact for abused and neglected children.  Jewish themed activities include:  Havdalah and honoring every day hero’s as well as BEFTY Shabbat.

BEFTY is also part of a much bigger picture, which is NFTY (National Federation of Temple Youth).  NFTY is sponsored by the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ).  NFTY has several regions throughout the country, and our region is NFTY-TOR (Texas-Oklahoma Region).  BEFTY members actively participate in 5 Regional weekend events that are held at Greene Family Camp and various congregations throughout the Regions.  This provides a fabulous opportunity to make friends that often last a lifetime, while having a fantastic time and sharing incredible experiences with other Jewish teenagers. New members are always welcomed. For more information, please contact the synagogue office.
