A friend is like a treasure; to be treated with love, kindness, and
respect. Here is the irony to that wonderful statement; not all treasures
are equal. Some treasures are shiny, colorful, simply amazing through
and through. Others also appear to be shiny, colorful, and amazing, but
then you see that you have been deceived by the beautiful outside only
to find the inside to be hollow and brittle. A true friendship requires
work but there is mutual respect. A true friendship should not hurt or
make you feel less of a person. Remember, it is You who lets people
know what you are worth by what you accept from them. “I have
learned from my teachers, but from my friends more than my teachers”
is a quote from the Talmud. Friendships are an integral part of Judaism
throughout the teachings in the Talmud. Friendships can be as strong as
Ruth, and Naomi from the Book of Ruth or as weak as Saul and David.
But the bottom line is No One has the right to make you feel less than
you truly are, and You are a beautiful treasure. C.B.E. is a warm, caring
environment and you are welcomed.

Ecclesiastes wrote, “Two are better than one because they have a
good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his
fellow; but woe to him that is alone when he falls, for he has not
another to help him up” (4:9-10).
